Helping Women with Breast Cancer Since 2001
The U'ilani Fund (pronounced oo-ee-la-nee) is a non-profit organization that provides funding to individuals with breast cancer to use for complementary care in order to improve quality of life. We support people in Santa Cruz, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Hawaii.
The U'ilani Fund was created in memory of Marina Lee U'ilani Bermudez, a family physician who passed away from breast cancer in 2000. We have given out over 1,000 grants totalling over $600,000 to women in need.
The U'ilani Fund is proud and honored to have received a grant from
Newman's Own Foundation in the amount of $9,500. The grant will help us focus on providing outreach and support for breast cancer patients in the San Francisco Tenderloin and East Bay communities who are marginalized and facing severe economic disparities. We are partnering with St. Anthony's Medical Clinic (SF Tenderloin) and Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS in the East Bay) to help identify these patients and guide them through the application process, as well as assisting them in accessing complementary care.
We are extremely grateful to Newman's Own Foundation.
